Coast Trail

I love a good Saturday when you can do whatever you want, starting with sleeping in. Jared and I did just that and then some. After we got our sleepy eyes out of bed we drove over to Bolinas to hike the Coast Trail and to take a dip in Bass Lake. Mind you, it was about 65 degrees and really foggy, but it's August and we needed to indulge and get our swimming fix.

After our beautiful hike full of green forests, foggy swimming holes, ocean waves, and lush waterfalls, we headed to Point Reyes Station to eat. We stopped at Stellina's on Main St. and treated ourselves to whatever we wanted. This may sound corny, but I've always wanted to order a cheese plate, but never have because I thought I would be too full for dinner. However, we were feeling giddy and got it anyway - it was so worth ordering. It came with raw figs and cow, goat and sheep cheeses. Oh my, it was tasty. For our main dishes Jared ordered clams and bucatini and I had the pene, pesto, and summer squash. Both were amazing. Then we threw up our hands and opted for dessert and were surprised to get the following: chocolate cake with espresso bean chocolate ganache topped with toasted pine nuts and a scoop of burnt whiskey ice cream. It was the best thing my mouth ever tasted. I highly recommend this restaurant and visiting Point Reyes - it's probably my favorite place on Earth.

To Texas, With Love

Hey Dicou's,
We're sure going to miss you and I can't believe you've left already.
Congratulations on this new adventure, new state, new baby, new everything. May Austin bring you a great home, fine dining, and incredible sights. We send our love to you.

Best,
Wood's

P.S. Some advice for Taylor...

Say what?

We moved back to Berkeley! (yeah!)
Our brief stint in Sunnyvale was okay (boring), but we're glad to be back. Here's the story:
Jared disliked (strongly) his job and so he decided to start a company with his UCB labmate/friend to build a time machine (I wish)...actually, to develop robot brains that drive people around (like that sounds any more legitimate). Anyway, it's a real thing so now we're living in the Elmwood area. I'm loving the fact that I can walk everywhere again and that I have better (more stinky) public transportation access. Actually, one of the BART trains upgraded to slick material for it's seats - no more permanent pee stains! Woo-hoo! (It's always good to leave posts on a happy note.)

Things I've missed: My favorite bush on Parker and College (it's seriously my favorite one ever); BART (minus the smell and the occasional weird stains on the seats and floor); Blondie's Pizza (a pepperoni slice and Coke is a vice of mine).
Viva Berkeley!

P.S. I hate moving.

Santé!

We played it out just as usual; small talk, savory dish, real talk, sweets - I always look forward to our meet-ups and luncheons. Though it may be our last for a while, I look forward to whatever may come in the future because, of course, it will be hilarious, interesting, and flavorful.

Note: Aw, Britt, you look so cute with that green vest and my that caramel cheesecake mouse still looks amazing.
